Donald Trump appeared at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, promising that the “cross of Christ” will be protected under a 2024 Trump administration.
Speaking to the event’s attendees, Trump said, “Remember, every communist regime throughout history has tried to stamp out the churches, just like every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them and control them, and, in America, the radical left is trying to do both at the same time.”
He noted that such events are “really dangerous.”
“They want to tear down crosses where they can and cover them up with social justice flags,” Trump continued, explaining that leftist activists have also sought to remove George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson from schools and monuments.
“But no one will be touching the cross of Christ under the Trump administration, I swear to you, that will never happen, never happen.”
