Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a campaign rally in North Charleston on Wednesday, ahead of the South Carolina Republican presidential primary.
A recent poll by Winthrop University indicates that Trump maintains a significant lead over former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley in her home state. Among South Carolina voters surveyed, 65% expressed support for Trump, while only 29% favored Haley.
Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), who has been considered a potential running mate for Trump in the 2024 presidential election, is slated to join the Republican front-runner at the rally. Trump is expected to address the audience at 7 p.m. Eastern time.
