Thirteen Republican governors arrived in Eagle Pass, Texas, to support Governor Greg Abbott’s (R-TX) ongoing fight to secure Texas’ southern border.
The governors joining Abbott included Sarah Huckabee Sanders (AR), Brian Kemp (GA), Brad Little (ID), Eric Holcomb (IN), Kim Reynolds (IA), Jeff Landry (LA), Tate Reeves (MS), Mike Parson (MO), Greg Gianforte (MT), Jill Pillen (NE), Chris Sununu (NH), Bill Lee (TN), and Spencer Cox (UT).
“President Biden has abandoned his constitutional duty to protect Americans by refusing to secure our southern border,” Abbott said during a press conference. “During his presidency, Joe Biden has smashed records for illegal immigration and allowed total chaos to be unleashed along our southern border. Instead of upholding immigration laws already on the books, President Biden sent his lawyers into federal courts to sue the State of Texas for doing the job he should have been doing all along.”
“Half of America’s Governors, including those here with me today, have banded together to make one thing clear: Americans stand with Texas and our right to protect and defend our state from the crisis at our southern border. They have traveled to the very epicenter of the border crisis to witness first-hand President Biden’s lawless policies and the devastating impacts it’s having on our communities, Texas, and the entire country. Until the Biden Administration decides to do its job and secure the border, Texas—with the support of 25 of America’s Governors—will continue to step up and protect our nation from the catastrophe caused by President Biden.”

American Faith reported that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) sent state troops to the southern border to assist Texas in its illegal immigration crisis.
The Florida State Guard and Florida National Guard will help Texas place barriers along its border.
In an announcement on X, DeSantis wrote, “Florida has been assisting at the southern border since 2021, and we are sending more support from both the @FLStateGuard & up to one battalion of @FLGuard. Their mission will be to assist Texas in erecting barriers at the border to stop the invasion of illegal aliens.”
Last month, 25 governors released a joint statement declaring that they stand with the state of Texas, writing, “President Biden and his Administration have left Americans and our country completely vulnerable to unprecedented illegal immigration pouring across the Southern border. Instead of upholding the rule of law and securing the border, the Biden Administration has attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country.”
“We stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border,” they wrote. “We do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally.”
