National Border Patrol Council Defies Federal Messaging on Texas Stand-off

The union representing U.S. border patrol agents issued a statement of “appreciation” and “respect” for Texas in the ongoing legal back-and-forth between the Lone Star state and the Biden Administration and the state’s efforts to secure the southern border.

The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), which represents border agents and staff, posted on X Friday that they had no issue with Texas’s stance and the stand it had taken in the ongoing legal debate to secure the southern border. The NBPC added that reports to the contrary were “simply not true.”

The NBPC made it plain there was no disagreement between the rank-and-file border agents and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Texas National Guard (TX NG), or Gov. Greg Abbott (R). They also rejected claims that they would be arresting TX NG, calling it “fake news.”

This comes after months of legal wrangling between Texas and the federal government over state attempts to slow illegal immigration with a floating barrier, razor wire fencing and the TX NG taking over Shelby Park in Eagle Pass.

Last week, a U.S. Supreme Court decision sided with the Biden Administration, granting border agents permission to cut or remove razor wire barriers erected along stretches of the Texas border. Abbott had argued that the state had a Constitutional Right to protect its citizens, and nothing impeded him from ordering the TX NG to erect additional barriers.

“President Biden has violated his oath to faithfully execute immigration laws enacted by Congress,” the Republican said. “Instead of prosecuting immigrants for the federal crime of illegal entry, President Biden has sent his lawyers into federal courts to sue Texas for taking action to secure the border,” as reported by the Epoch Times.

Additionally, Ben Bergquam and Real America’s Voice exposed a document recently that proves open border communist groups are feeding information to illegal Chinese immigrants, directly adding and abiding a U.S. invasion, as they funnel through the porous southern border.

A Daily Caller exclusive report revealed a suspected terrorist affiliated with the Somali terror group al-Shabaab was apprehended at the southern border near San Ysidro, California in March 2023. He was released into the country’s interior after the screening center dubbed him a “mismatch.”

However, January 18^th, the screening center made a “redetermination” and confirmed he was a terrorist known to use “manufacture or transport of explosives or firearms.” He was arrested in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) two days later. Ultimately, he roamed free across the nation for nearly a year.

John Fabbricatore, a retired ICE field director who now sits on the National Immigration Center for Enforcement’s (NICE) board, told the Daily Caller,

“This situation is greatly endangering our nation, and it is clear that our safety is dependent on enforcing our immigration laws and securing the border.”

Meanwhile, Biden claims he’s done all he can to shut down the border.
