Daughter of Former Climate Envoy John Kerry Says ‘Net Zero’ Compliance ‘No Longer a Choice’

Vanessa Kerry, the daughter of Biden’s former climate envoy John Kerry, said at COP28 that public compliance in “net zero” targets is “no longer a choice.”

The statement, made in December, has emerged in social media videos.

“The climate crisis is a health crisis, and it’s killing us,” she says in the video. “The events of this year, which is said to be the hottest on record, have brought this painful truth into sharp focus.”

“A study was released just a few days ago, that shows that more than 8 million people a year die from air pollution, more than in the entire Covid pandemic,” she claimed. “One person dies every four seconds.”

“So by the time I finish this sentence, another person will have died, and 61% of those deaths are directly attributable to fossil fuels.”

“So what is the solution? We can and must make different decisions,” she added. We must accept that there is no other way forward than to phase out our reliance on fossil fuels. Simply mitigation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions — is no longer a choice.”

While global leaders have pushed “net zero” carbon emissions and declaring climate change as the “only existential threat,” Richard Lindzen, professor emeritus of atmospheric sciences at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) said, “If all other things are kept constant, and you double CO2, you would get a little under one degree of warming.”

Lindzen, speaking on EpochTV’s “American Thought Leaders,” explained, “You have politicians saying, ‘If it goes up another half degree, we’re all going to boil.’ You have people believing that, and never questioning if a half-degree would bring anything to a boil. If it really can, can I patent it, please?”

He added that the greenhouse effect is “due primarily to water vapor and clouds. CO2, methane, and nitrous oxide are minor, minor constituents. Roughly speaking, if all other things are kept constant and you double CO2, you would get a little under one degree of warming.”
