New York City has extended its curfew orders to 20 additional migrant shelters as violence has increased across the city. <\/p>\n
Spokesperson Kayla Mamelak said officials will impose the curfew, set for 11:00 p.m. already enforced at four shelters housing illegals. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe curfew impacts about 3,600 migrants, with the largest of the emergency centers housing nearly 1,000 migrants in Long Island City, Queens, according to a listing provided by the mayor\u2019s office,\u201d the Associated Press reported. <\/p>\n
\u201cCity officials initially placed a curfew on\u00a0four shelters last month\u00a0in response to neighborhood complaints. Mamelak said the curfews are in line with restrictions already in place at NYC\u2019s traditional homeless shelters and allow for \u201cmore efficient capacity management\u201d of migrants in the city\u2019s care.\u201d<\/p>\n
The curfew has been set just weeks after a group of New York City migrants\u00a0attacked<\/a>\u00a0New York Police Department (NYPD) officers outside a taxpayer-funded shelter.<\/p>\n At least 41 migrants have been arrested since Mayor Eric Adams\u00a0opened<\/a>\u00a0the Roosevelt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan to thousands of illegals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
