\u201cIf we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness<\/em>.\u201d 1 John 1:9 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n You\u2019ve seen the prisoners\u2014the alcoholic who won\u2019t admit his drinking problem; the woman who refuses to talk to anyone about her fears. Perhaps to see such a prisoner all you have to do is look in the mirror!<\/p>\n The Bible says,<\/p>\n \u201cIf we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us<\/em>\u201d (1 John 1:9<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The biggest word in Scripture just might be that two-letter one, if<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n Confessing sins, admitting failure, is exactly what prisoners of pride refuse to do. They say, \u201cListen, I\u2019m just as good as the next guy<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cI pay my taxes<\/em>.\u201d Justification. Rationalization. Comparison. These are the tools of the jailbird. But in the kingdom of God they sound hollow. Many know they\u2019re wrong, yet pretend they are right.
