{"id":9039,"date":"2024-02-09T16:14:49","date_gmt":"2024-02-09T10:44:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/09\/justice-department-says-biden-willfully-withheld-documents-no-prosecution\/"},"modified":"2024-02-09T16:14:49","modified_gmt":"2024-02-09T10:44:49","slug":"justice-department-says-biden-willfully-withheld-documents-no-prosecution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/09\/justice-department-says-biden-willfully-withheld-documents-no-prosecution\/","title":{"rendered":"Justice Department Says Biden &#8216;Willfully&#8217; Withheld Documents, No Prosecution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Special Counsel Robert Hur will not prosecute President Joe Biden, although it was discovered Biden \u201cwillfully\u201d withheld documents.<\/p>\n<p>In an almost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/storage\/report-from-special-counsel-robert-k-hur-february-2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">400-page document<\/a>, the Special Counsel\u2019s Office wrote, \u201cOur investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden will not be prosecuted, however, because his memory was \u201csignificantly limited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Biden\u2019s memory was significantly limited, both during his recorded interviews with the ghostwriter in 2017, and in his interview with our office in 2023,\u201d the report adds. \u201cAnd his cooperation with our investigation, including by reporting to the government that the Afghanistan documents were in his Delaware garage, will likely convince some jurors that he made an innocent mistake, rather than acting willfully \u2013 that is, with intent to break the law \u2013 as the statute requires.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Eiden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,\u201d Hur\u2019s report read. \u201cBased on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. He had many, many times more documents \u2014 totally unguarded. Mine were always surrounded by Secret Service and in locked rooms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is 100 times more severe.
