Mike Gallagher (R-WI)<\/li>\n<li>Tom McClintock (R-CA)<\/li>\n<li>Ken Buck (R-CO)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), \u201cBlake Moore changed his vote no when asked by leadership for procedural reasons to make a motion to reconsider so that we can vote on impeachment again next week. Marjorie Taylor Greene\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@RepMTG) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMTG\/status\/1755025917724819929?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 7, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In January, a House panel <a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/house-panel-releases-articles-of-impeachment-against-dhs-secretary-mayorkas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">released<\/a> two articles of impeachment against Mayorkas.<\/p>\n<p>The first article said that Mayorkas \u201crepeatedly violated laws enacted by Congress regarding immigration and border security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn large part because of his unlawful conduct, millions of aliens have illegally entered the United States on an annual basis with many unlawfully remaining in the United States. His refusal to obey the law is not only an offense against the separation of powers in the Constitution of the United States, it also threatens our national security and has had a dire impact on communities across the country,\u201d the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/homeland.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Articles-of-Impeachment.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">document<\/a>\u00a0read.<\/p>\n<p>The second article stated that Mayorkas \u201cknowingly made false statements, and knowingly obstructed lawful oversight of the Department of Homeland Security \u2026 principally to obfuscate the results of his willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas <a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/homeland-security-secretary-mayorkas-defends-against-impeachment-allegations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">issued<\/a> a robust defense against the impeachment articles levied against him, denouncing the allegations as \u201cfalse\u201d and urging Congress to address immigration issues through legislation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/dhs-secretary-mayorkas-impeachment-fails\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The House of Representatives failed to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas by a vote of 214 to 216.
