Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson announced that he traveled to Moscow, Russia, to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n
\u201cHere\u2019s why we\u2019re doing it. First, because it\u2019s our job. We\u2019re in journalism. Our duty is to inform people,\u201d Carlson said. \u201cTwo years into a war that\u2019s reshaping the entire world, most Americans are not informed. They have no real idea what\u2019s happening in this region, here in Russia or 600 miles away in Ukraine. But they should know. They\u2019re paying for much of it in ways they might not fully yet perceive.\u201d<\/p>\n
Describing the ongoing Ukraine-Russian conflict, Carlson noted that English-speaking countries think that \u201cnothing has really changed. And they think that because no one has told them the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir media outlets are corrupt. They lie to their readers and viewers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Explaining that media outlets have conducted countless interviews with Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky, Carlson stated that \u201cnot a single Western journalist has bothered to interview the president of the other country involved in this conflict, Vladimir Putin.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMost Americans have no idea why Putin invaded Ukraine, or what his goals are now,\u201d he added. \u201cThey\u2019ve never heard his voice. That\u2019s wrong. Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they\u2019re implicated in, and we have the right to tell them about it because we are Americans, too.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not here because we love Vladimir Putin. We are here because we love the United States. And we want it to remain prosperous and free.\u201d<\/p>\n
