We wanted to spend every waking moment together. We set aside all non-essentials in favor of getting to know each other. What a magnificent experience!<\/p>\n<p class=\"docx_body\">\u2003 Even so, I prefer what we have now\u2014a deep love not dependent on changing emotions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"docx_body\">\u2003A religious leader approached Jesus (Mark 12:28) and asked, \u201cWhich command is the most important of all?\u201d Jesus\u2019 answer came right from the Old Testament passage known as the Shema (hear). Jesus said, \u201cLove the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength\u201d (Mark 12:30). Jesus leaves no doubt; it is not a suggestion. Jesus told the religious leader who and how to love. He told us, too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"docx_body\">\u2003We are to love the Lord our God. We aren\u2019t to love substitutes for the One True God, whether false gods or gods of our own making. We love God when we spend time with Him, and get to know His mind, His ways, and what makes Him smile.<\/p>\n<p class=\"docx_body\">\u2003<strong>Challenge:<\/strong> Get to know the Lord your God and love Him deeply.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p class=\"docx_body\">Claudean Boatman and her husband recently celebrated 39 years of marriage and credit loving God as the reason they love each other well.
