Comedian and \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d alum Rob Schneider recently discussed how his faith has transformed his life, especially on expressing forgiveness.<\/p>\n

During a recent interview<\/a> with CBN News<\/a>, Schneider spoke about re-embracing the faith he previously had as a teenager.<\/p>\n

\u201cJesus only lets you stray so much,\u201d he said. \u201cAt a certain point, He grabbed me again and hugged me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schneider, who stars in a new Bentkey cartoon, \u201cChip Chilla,\u201d explained that there is a true goodness in Christianity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are other religions out there that say, \u2018Well, kill your enemy; hate your enemy,’\u201d Schneider said. \u201cAnd we have a religion that says, \u2018Love your enemy, love thy neighbor as thyself\u2026 love others.\u2019 What a beautiful way to go through life.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also spoke about a now-viral post<\/a> from November, when he apologized for being resentful at other people, particularly during how fellow performers handled issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were people that angered me,\u201d Schneider said, referencing where celebrities staunch views regarding vaccinations and other issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to dig underneath what\u2019s that anger.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor also had to question where he had forgiveness in his heart, adding that he cannot always \u201cinterpret what other people are feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Understanding the fear people had during the pandemic, Schneider has a lesser than harsh tone when it comes to criticisms of fellow celebrities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I am going to lead my life and be an example, as Christ compels us to do, then I have to do it,\u201d Schneider continued. \u201cEven if it hurts, even if it stretches how I used to feel\u2026 and, once you forgive, the beautiful thing about forgiveness is\u2026 you end up feeling better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite following Christ as a teenager, and having \u201cdreams of Christ\u201d, Schneider shared that he drifted from the faith.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did \u2014 like many Christians do \u2014 stray,\u201d Schneider said. \u201cBut there was a continuing pull back, knowing where I needed to be and to be home.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then [a] very, very strange confluence of things. I married a Catholic, and she was very patient with me, and she\u2019s been the greatest thing that\u2019s ever happened to me,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Other factors, including the Shroud of Turin and other incidents helped Schneider be more grounded in his faith.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Jesus does, He\u2019s a little nudge, a little nudge, a little nudge,\u201d he said. \u201cGod could put His hand down and make everybody [love Him], but God wants us to come to Him of our own volition. That is the greatest gift.\u201d<\/p>\n
