Representative Frank Lucas (R-OK) said<\/a> during a talk at the Hudson Institute that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is building an \u201cempire reminiscent of the colonial period.\u201d<\/p>\n

This \u201cempire\u201d exploits financial systems through loan schemes. Underdeveloped nations are often unable to pay back the loan, making them subject to Chinese policies Lucas described as \u201cmercantilist.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Chinese operate by different standards than the rest of the world,\u201d Lucas said.<\/p>\n

\u201cChinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific poses a significant challenge for the U.S. and our allies,\u201d the representative wrote on X. \u201cWe must act now to counter China to preserve international order and maintain U.S. leadership abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n

The CCP is not only seeking to dominate financial institutions, but is also infiltrating U.S. schools.<\/p>\n

Peter Wood, president of the National Association of Scholars,\u00a0stated<\/a> that China\u2019s infiltration into American K-12 schools is \u201calmost everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

The scholar argued that China\u2019s influence could be seen most often in schools that \u201cfeed\u201d into elite colleges and universities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is, in every state that we\u2019ve looked at, we have found instances of it, but I would say it\u2019s concentrated in the feeder schools to elite education, which means mostly West Coast and East Coast, but not exclusively those,\u201d Wood said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we were working on the Confucius Institutes, we gained some knowledge of the junior version of Confucius Institutes, Confucius Classrooms, which were being spotted in American K-12 education around the country, oftentimes at the sorts of schools that were feeders to elite colleges and universities,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
