Thirteen Republican governors arrived in Eagle Pass, Texas, to support Governor Greg Abbott\u2019s (R-TX) ongoing fight to secure Texas\u2019 southern border.<\/p>\n
The governors joining Abbott included Sarah Huckabee Sanders (AR), Brian Kemp (GA), Brad Little (ID), Eric Holcomb (IN), Kim Reynolds (IA), Jeff Landry (LA), Tate Reeves (MS), Mike Parson (MO), Greg Gianforte (MT), Jill Pillen (NE), Chris Sununu (NH), Bill Lee (TN), and Spencer Cox (UT).<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Biden has abandoned his constitutional duty to protect Americans by refusing to secure our southern border,\u201d Abbott said during a press conference<\/a>. \u201cDuring his presidency, Joe Biden has smashed records for illegal immigration and allowed total chaos to be unleashed along our southern border. Instead of upholding immigration laws already on the books, President Biden sent his lawyers into federal courts to sue the State of Texas for doing the job he should have been doing all along.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHalf of America\u2019s Governors, including those here with me today, have banded together to make one thing clear: Americans stand with Texas and our right to protect and defend our state from the crisis at our southern border. They have traveled to the very epicenter of the border crisis to witness first-hand President Biden\u2019s lawless policies and the devastating impacts it\u2019s having on our communities, Texas, and the entire country. Their mission will be to assist Texas in erecting barriers at the border to stop the invasion of illegal aliens.\u201d<\/p>\n Last month, 25 governors released a joint statement<\/a> declaring that they stand with the state of Texas, writing, \u201cPresident Biden and his Administration have left Americans and our country completely vulnerable to unprecedented illegal immigration pouring across the Southern border. Instead of upholding the rule of law and securing the border, the Biden Administration has attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border,\u201d they wrote<\/a>. \u201cWe do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
