Target recently confirmed it was removing one of its Black History Month products due to misidentifying three civil rights leaders. <\/p>\n
After it was pointed out that Target\u2019s Black History Month magnet book mixed up the three civil rights icons, W.E.B. Du Bois, Booker T. Washington and Carter G. Woodson, the store confirmed the mishap.<\/p>\n
A TikTok video shared by user Issa Tete pointed out the mistake in the holiday-themed item. <\/p>\n
\u201cIdk who needs to correct it but it needs to be pulled off the shelves nonetheless. Any person could have missed the mistake but it just takes one person to point it out and ask for corrections #blackhistory #blackhistorymonth\u00a0#blacktiktok,\u201d Tete captioned.<\/p>\n
\u201cI noticed discrepancies like as soon as I opened this. Like I said, these need to be pulled off the shelf.\u201d<\/p>\n
The user also pointed out three magnets of the Woodson, Washington, and Du Bois, and explained how the names were mixed up.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey got the name wrong,\u201d she declared, elsewhere clarifying, \u201cThis is not W.E.B Du Bois, this is\u00a0Booker T. Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Target said the store will no longer be selling the products and would be notifying the publisher as well.<\/p>\n
