I don\u2019t find anything of the kind. You can guess, but I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything that\u2019s certain.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u201cAntichrist, America and Armageddon\u201d By Greg Laurie\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UcDhQc5PmpU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Laurie then listed a few possible reasons why the U.S. goes unmentioned, the first of which was that \u201cmaybe we\u2019re not mentioned because our country is decimated in a nuclear attack.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laurie then read from <a href=\"https:\/\/bibleportal.com\/passage?search=2+peter+3&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2 Peter 3<\/a>, which says in part that \u201cthe elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHorrible,\u201d said Laurie. \u201cWe think of these Maui wildfires and how quickly they spread. To go from paradise to horror in just moments. Terrifying, horrible thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs [2 Peter 3] a description of nuclear war? It could be, because you look at the mass devastation that happens in the book of Revelation. In many ways, it matches what is called a \u2018nuclear winter.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second possibility, according to Laurie, is that \u201cwe simply decline as a world power,\u201d explaining that \u201cevery nation has a shelf life, every nation has a beginning, a middle, and an end.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe glory of Greece was eclipsed after 268 years. Mighty Rome ruled for nine centuries. America is 247 years old and counting,\u201d continued Laurie. \u201cSo, maybe we just come to the end of our reign as a superpower, and we fade from the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The third possibility outlined by Laurie, which he described as his \u201cfavorite option,\u201d was that maybe the United States might not be present \u201cbecause a great revival takes place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we had a spiritual awakening or a series of spiritual awakenings, and thousands and thousands, and millions and millions of Americans came to Christ and were all following Christ and then the rapture happens, that would explain a lot,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven without a revival, when the rapture happens, people are going to disappear. Think about this, people in the military, people in law enforcement, people in the medical field, people in every field you can think of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laurie said that since \u201ca lot of people disappear,\u201d this situation \u201ccould shut the nation down over night,\u201d adding that he prayed that \u201cwe do have an awakening\u201d in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Laurie\u2019s remarks were part of a sermon series he has been doing over the past couple of weeks titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-cayEErruPI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cIs Jesus Coming Back Again?\u201d <\/a>that&#8217;s centered on topics related to the End Times, with it primarily focused on Revelation.<\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/pastor-greg-laurie-lists-key-signs-jesus-is-coming-back.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">earlier sermon<\/a> preached last month, Laurie talked about the Second Coming, noting that there were \u201csigns of the times\u201d in the modern day that indicated Jesus\u2019 return was imminent.<\/p>\n<p>Examples he gave included &#8220;the emergence of China as a superpower,&#8221; &#8220;the lessening of the United States as a superpower,&#8221; &#8220;the repeated threats against Israel spoken of in the Bible,&#8221; and &#8220;statements from our world leaders about a potential Armageddon&#8221; due to the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>During his most recent message, Laurie explained that he believed studying the End Times was \u201cimportant,\u201d noting that the rapture is described as the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/bibleportal.com\/verse-topic?v=Titus+2%3A13&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blessed hope<\/a>\u201d in Scripture. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt brings hope to us to know that the Lord will come for us,\u201d said Laurie. \u201cUnderstanding Bible prophecy should also cause us to want to live more godly lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKnowing Christ could come back at any moment should affect me in the way that I live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laurie\u2019s ideas on why America is not mentioned in Revelation echo comments he has made in the past, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/greg-laurie-jesus-revival-may-lead-us-christians-being-raptured-removing-america-end-times.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2018 interview<\/a> with PureFlix in which he said the possibility of a \u201cgreat revival\u201d could be the reason.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article_credit\">Follow Michael Gryboski on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MichaelGryboski?hc_ref=SEARCH&amp;fref=nf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Twitter <\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MichaelCGryboski\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"eoa_freedom_post\">\n<h2><span>Free<\/span> Religious Freedom Updates<\/h2>\n<p>Join thousands of others to get the <strong>FREEDOM POST<\/strong> newsletter for free, sent twice a week from The Christian Post.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/greg-laurie-lists-three-reasons-why-the-us-isnt-in-end-times-prophecy.html\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Harvest Pastor Greg Laurie preaching a sermon on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023. | Screengrab: YouTube\/Pastor Greg Laurie Harvest Christian Fellowship Pastor Greg Laurie offered a few possible reasons why the United States is not mentioned in the New Testament book of Revelation.
