His refusal to obey the law is not only an offense against the separation of powers in the Constitution of the United States, it also threatens our national security and has had a dire impact on communities across the country,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/homeland.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Articles-of-Impeachment.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">document<\/a> reads.<\/p>\n<p>The second article states that Mayorkas \u201cknowingly made false statements, and knowingly obstructed lawful oversight of the Department of Homeland Security \u2026 principally to obfuscate the results of his willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Tuesday on our Homeland Security Committee we are voting to impeach Secretary Mayorkas.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the facts about the Articles of Impeachment. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eR38GeTwLn\">pic.twitter.com\/eR38GeTwLn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@RepMTG) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMTG\/status\/1751636857417351269?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 28, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>DHS released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/xlibrary\/opa\/24_0128_OPA_memo.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memo<\/a> claiming that the upcoming markup is \u201cjust more of the same political games from House Homeland Security Committee (CHS) Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t want to fix the problem; they want to campaign on it.
