Jim Jordan&#8217;s Records Request"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_82\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis declined congressman Jim Jordan\u2019s (R-OH) request to turn over the records he sought from a special prosecutor working in her office, with whom she allegedly had an affair.<\/p>\n<p>Willis said in a letter that Jordan\u2019s request to attorney Nathan Wade for records earlier this month violated \u201cprinciples of separation of powers\u201d and a \u201crespect for the legal protections provided to attorney work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/chairman-jordan-demands-documents-and-communications-fani-willis-associate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jordan<\/a>\u00a0sent a letter to Willis to reportedly inquire about the potential of \u201cpolitically motivated investigations and the potential misuse of federal funds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour letter is simply a restatement of demands that you have made in past correspondence for access to evidence in a pending Georgia criminal prosecution,\u201d Willis wrote in Friday\u2019s letter. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I said previously, your requests implicate significant, well-recognized confidentiality interests related to an ongoing criminal matter.
