{"id":7139,"date":"2024-01-27T23:09:03","date_gmt":"2024-01-27T17:39:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/27\/georgia-senate-votes-to-create-committee-investigating-fani-willis\/"},"modified":"2024-01-27T23:09:03","modified_gmt":"2024-01-27T17:39:03","slug":"georgia-senate-votes-to-create-committee-investigating-fani-willis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/27\/georgia-senate-votes-to-create-committee-investigating-fani-willis\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgia Senate Votes to Create Committee Investigating Fani Willis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_82\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The Georgia Senate voted 30-19 to create a special committee that will investigate Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will gather information relating to allegations that she misused taxpayer funds by having an improper relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.<\/p>\n<p>American Faith <a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/georgia-state-senate-set-to-investigate-fani-willis-on-allegations-of-corruption-misconduct\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> on the resolution\u2019s proposal.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, led by State Senator Greg Dolezal (R-Forsyth), came after Georgia Governor Brian Kemp decided against initiating a criminal investigation into Willis last week.<\/p>\n<p>Upon introducing the resolution, Dolezal <a href=\"https:\/\/senatepress.net\/legislation-to-create-senate-special-committee-on-investigations-introduced.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, The multitude of accusations surrounding Ms. Willis, spanning from allegations of prosecutorial misconduct to questions about the use of public funds and accusations of an unprofessional relationship, underscores the urgency for a thorough and impartial examination. We owe it to the public to ensure transparency, accountability and the preservation of the integrity of our justice system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The special committee will have six Democrats and three Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, state Rep. Charlice Byrd (R-Woodstock) filed a resolution to impeach Willis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe First Amendment is still the bedrock of this country and Fani Willis can\u2019t overturn it because she has Trump Derangement Syndrome,\u201d Byrd added. \u201cIt\u2019s time our state lawmakers draw a line in the sand and put an end to her refusal to uphold the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">With freedom on the line, bold action is necessary.
