Today we are praising God for answered prayer!\u201d El Roi Haiti officials said in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elroihaiti.com\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">statement<\/a>\u00a0posted on their website.<\/p>\n<p>The American nurse married\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elroihaiti.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">El Roi Haiti<\/a>\u00a0founder and Liberty University graduate, Sandro Dorsainvil, in 2021 after she began her role as a school nurse with the organization in 2020. She is also a committed Christian who began traveling to Haiti in 2010. During her captivity, the ministry described her as someone who \u201clives a life following in the footsteps of Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the day she was abducted, witnesses\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/haiti-kidnapping-mother-daughter-88df4a0a616599747b7e1728669b1f47?taid=64c8c0e467be880001825f5b&amp;utm_campaign=TrueAnthem&amp;utm_medium=AP&amp;utm_source=Twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">told The Associated Press<\/a>\u00a0that Alix Dorsainvil was busy caring for patients in a small brick clinic when armed men ambushed the site where she was working and took her captive.<\/p>\n<p>Lormina Louima, a patient who was waiting for a check-up, told the news service that one man brandished a gun and ordered her to relax.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I saw the gun, I was so scared,\u201d Louima told the AP. \u201cI said, \u2018I don\u2019t want to see this, let me go.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Members of the community said the gunmen demanded a $1 million ransom.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of State, which had been working with Haitian counterparts to secure the release of Alix Dorsainvil and her daughter, did not state if a ransom was paid.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have no greater priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens overseas,&#8221; the agency said. &#8220;As you can imagine, these individuals have been through a very difficult ordeal, both physically and mentally.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>El Roi Haiti said the release of their founder\u2019s wife and his daughter was also a testament to God\u2019s faithfulness and the power of prayer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so thankful for everyone who joined us in prayer and supported us during this crisis. \u2018El Roi\u2019 is a Hebrew name of the God of the Bible that means \u2018the God who sees.\u2019 It is with that vision that we now rest upon God\u2019s truth that, \u2018In his kindness God called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus.
