trend<\/h2>\n<div class=\"article-byline has-tools\">\n<div class=\"article-tools\"><a href=\"#cp-talk\" class=\"has-number talk-cp-256006\" data-scrollto=\".viafoura\" aria-label=\"Go to comments\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.christianpost.com\/assets\/img\/icon\/chat-rect.svg\" alt=\"\"\/><span class=\"number\"\/><\/a><a href=\"\" class=\"js-share\" aria-label=\"Share\" id=\"share-btn\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.christianpost.com\/assets\/img\/icon\/share-outline.svg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<figure class=\"img-box align-center center\" itemscope=\"\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\"><picture width=\"760\" height=\"507\"><source type=\"image\/webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.christianpost.com\/images\/cache\/image\/14\/65\/146514_w_760_507.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.christianpost.com\/images\/cache\/image\/14\/65\/146514_w_760_507.jpg\" class=\"type:primaryImage\" width=\"760\" height=\"507\"\/><\/source><\/picture><figcaption class=\"caption\"><span class=\"photo-des\">Spencer Platt\/Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nearly a third of Christians in the U.S. have considered switching banks in the last year due to conflicts with their values and other factors, according to a new survey.<\/p>\n<p>The research conducted by the faith-based Christian Community Credit Union (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mycccu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CCCU<\/a>) in San Dimas, California, found as Christians are being increasingly discriminated against by major banks, more are choosing to bank with companies that reflect their most deeply-held beliefs and values.<\/p>\n<p>In its survey of more than 1,300 professed Christians, over 30% of respondents said they thought about taking their banking business elsewhere in the past year in response to several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/voices\/are-banks-going-woke-and-canceling-religious-customers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports <\/a>about some of the country\u2019s biggest banks canceling the accounts of religious customers.<\/p>\n<p>Two-thirds of all respondents said they were \u201cexcited or curious\u201d about potentially banking with a Christian institution, while half said they believe it\u2019s \u201cmore important than ever\u201d for their chosen bank to reflect their values.<\/p>\n<p>Blair Korschun, president and CEO of CCCU, said the research, combined with what she called the &#8220;predatory practices of certain big banks,&#8221; could signal the beginning of a major bank exodus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver 60% of Christians care deeply about managing their finances Biblically, to honor God,\u201d said Korschun. \u201cWe are excited to provide a financial institution that aligns with their values and invests in their communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not just CCCU: other banks are offering statements of faith along with their lending and credit programs, including America\u2019s Christian Credit Union, which is described on its <a href=\"https:\/\/americaschristiancu.com\/statement-of-faith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website <\/a>as a \u201cChristian institution committed to the cause of Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other institutions, such as<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cassbank.com\/faith-based-banking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Cass Commercial Bank<\/a>, cater to faith-based and nonprofit customers in order to help them \u201cbuild, grow and renovate places of worship\u201d and even offer digital giving and church management software solutions for ministries of all sizes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The tectonic shift in banking practices come after a rise in what\u2019s known as the \u201cdebanking\u201d problem over the past few years, recently including JP Morgan Chase Bank <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/jpmorgan-chase-denies-closing-accounts-over-religious-views.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">canceling <\/a>the bank account of a religious nonprofit led by former Senator and U.S. Ambassador Sam Brownback.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In May, 19 Republican state attorneys general wrote a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/642377671\/Attorneys-General-Letter-to-Chase\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> letter<\/a> to CEO Jamie Dimon and called on JPMorgan Chase to \u201cstop its religious and politically biased discrimination and start living up to its commitment to an inclusive society where everyone feels welcomed, equal, and included.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bank of America decided this April to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/bank-of-america-cancels-accounts-for-ugandan-outreach-ministry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> abruptly cancel<\/a> the bank account for Indigenous Advance Ministries, an international ministry that had opened its account in 2015.
