<\/source><\/picture>A bomb threat forced the evacuation of a gathering of Christians who remained cheerful as the unexpected development derailed their evening plans.\u00a0<\/p>\n
G3 Ministries<\/a>, an annual conference launched by Pastor Josh Buice of Pray’s Mill Baptist Church that seeks to “educate, encourage, and equip local churches with sound biblical theology for the glory of God,” held its event, themed \u201cThe Sovereignty of God,\u201d last Thursday through Saturday.<\/p>\n As attendees gathered for a screening of John MacArthur\u2019s \u201cThe Essential Church\u201d Friday evening, a bomb threat forced them to evacuate the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park where the conference was held.\u00a0<\/p>\n Shannon Paul Halliday, the director of \u201cThe Essential Church,\u201d took to X<\/a> Friday evening to announce that he was \u201cmic\u2019d up and ready to go on to talk about the Essential Church movie, and a bomb threat came into the building.\u201d He noted that \u201cG3\u2019s been evacuated,\u201d a development he referred to as \u201cinteresting timing.\u201d<\/p>\n I was mic\u2019d up and ready to go on to talk about the Essential Church movie, and a bomb threat, came into the building. The individual who issued the threat has been detained, and authorities are currently clearing the building. He is being held at the Clayton County Jail.\u00a0<\/p>\n After the bomb threat forced them to evacuate the conference, several attendees congregated in the lobby of the nearby Marriott to sing Christian worship music. Josh Buice<\/a>, founder and president of G3 Ministries, commented on the spontaneous expression of worship by declaring, \u201cEven in the midst of moments of difficulty, God\u2019s people have a reason to sing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Our God is sovereign! I directed their attention to @ScottAniol who led us as we began to sing God\u2019s praises. Everyone else in the hotel paused to take it in, both guests and staff. A truly amazing moment.\u201d<\/p>\n Video footage accompanying Buice\u2019s post shows those assembled in the Marriott Lobby singing \u201cGreat is Thy Faithfulness.\u201d While the bomb threat prevented the G3 Conference attendees from watching \u201cThe Essential Church\u201d as a group, one of them took to X<\/a> to indicate that \u201cevery attendee got a personal copy this morning\u201d as part of what she described as a \u201cCheck mate.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Bomb threat requires an evacuation of #g32023<\/a> right before #essentialchurch<\/a> screening?
