<\/source><\/picture>WASHINGTON \u2014 Dr. Ben Carson warned that many of the decades-long goals of communism have come to fruition in the United States as he urged the American people to have courage and fight back against efforts to subvert the nation’s Judeo-Christian heritage.<\/p>\n
Carson, a former neurosurgeon and presidential candidate who served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development during the Trump administration, addressed the crowd at the Family Research Council\u2019s Pray Vote Stand Summit Friday. He told the audience that troubling events in American society \u201chave been going on for quite a while.\u201d<\/p>\n
During his speech, Carson read aloud a portion of the Congressional Record<\/a> from Jan. 10, 1963, which included a list of \u201cCurrent Communist Goals\u201d as laid out in an excerpt of a book titled The Naked Communist<\/em>. He drew particular attention to the goal to \u201ccapture one or both of the political parties [in] the United States,\u201d lamenting that it \u201cseems like they\u2019ve done a good job there.\u201d Carson\u2019s analysis reflects the belief that communism has taken root in the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n Carson also highlighted how communists sought to \u201cget control of the schools,\u201d and \u201cuse them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda.\u201d He read about how communists worked to \u201csoften the curriculum,\u201d \u201cget control of teachers\u2019 associations\u201d and \u201cput the party line in textbooks.\u201d He identified another one of the goals as to \u201cinfiltrate the press, get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.\u201d<\/p>\n After he outlined another one of the communist goals to \u201cgain control of key positions in radio, TV, motion pictures,\u201d he encouraged the audience to \u201cthink about that.\u201d The Congressional Record from 1963, as shared by Carson, identifies the 32nd communist goal as to \u201csupport any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture\u2013education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The 40th installment of the list of \u201cCurrent Communist Goals\u201d consisted of an effort to \u201cdiscredit the family as an institution\u201d and \u201cencourage promiscuity and easy divorce.\u201d The 41st item on the list emphasized \u201cthe need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents\u201d and \u201cattribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cDoes any of that stuff sound familiar?\u201d he asked. \u201cThis is all the things that are happening in our society today.\u201d Noting that \u201cwe think we won the Cold War,\u201d Carson insisted that allies of communism \u201chad a longer plan.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Carson mentioned that this plan involved \u201cdriving wedges between us on the basis of race, income, age, gender, political affiliation, religion, you name it\u201d as part of an effort to make people view each other as \u201cenemies.\u201d He encouraged the audience to reject that line of thinking, maintaining that \u201cWe are not each other\u2019s enemies.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Additionally, Carson pointed to an effort to \u201cfix it\u201d and cause people to think that \u201cthis system doesn\u2019t work therefore we need something else.\u201d After citing statistics finding that 23 public schools in Baltimore, Maryland had zero students who could perform math at grade level, he suggested that such abysmal academic performance by public school students was by design.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is not a new phenomenon. This has occurred historically in other countries too, particularly before they became socialist and communist countries. It\u2019s called dumbing down the population because if people are ignorant, it\u2019s easy to tell them anything.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cYou know what it\u2019s going to require for us to get back on the right track?\u201d he asked. He answered his own question by declaring \u201ccourage,\u201d adding \u201cit\u2019s going to require us to understand what our history is.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Carson described how \u201cthis is a country that was founded on Judeo-Christian values and principles.\u201d He stressed that \u201cour founding document, the Declaration of Independence, says that our rights come from God and not from government.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf our system is going to be fixed, it is going to be we the people,\u201d he predicted. As Carson encouraged people to \u201cbe courageous\u201d and \u201cvote the right way,\u201d he stated that courage \u201ccomes from God.\u201d Carson concluded his remarks by proclaiming \u201cif we\u2019re going to be the land of the free, we must also be the home of the brave.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Ryan Foley is a reporter for The Christian Post.
