California Pastor Rob McCoy said in a recent interview that it is a \u201cchallenging time\u201d for Christianity. <\/p>\n
\u201cThere are two views of thought, God says or man says, and we believe in absolute truth,\u201d McCoy said on Newsmax.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOur founders did. They recognized that that there is something above government and that\u2019s God. \u2018We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, and endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights among those being life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.\u2019 So you know this is a challenging time.\u201d<\/p>\n
People want to \u201cthrow off constraint\u201d while describing their \u201cown truth,\u201d the pastor continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re contending for truth in the public square and there\u2019s a battle right now raging,\u201d McCoy said.\u00a0\u201cThese are trying times, but the church will rise above it. God is greater than government.\u201d<\/p>\n
McCoy also talked about the meaning of Good Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy would it have the title Good Friday when it deals with the crucifixion of Christ, which was bloody and painful?\u201d McCoy asked. \u201cBut it was good in the sense that, you know, the highest virtue is happiness \u2026 A canister that holds water is good if it does what it\u2019s designed to do, and Christ came to be the savior of the world. He accomplished that on Good Friday. He paid the penalty for our sins, and the wages of sin is death.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
