{"id":16025,"date":"2024-03-30T05:17:53","date_gmt":"2024-03-29T23:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/30\/attorneys-general-file-lawsuit-against-bidens-student-loan-plan\/"},"modified":"2024-03-30T05:17:53","modified_gmt":"2024-03-29T23:47:53","slug":"attorneys-general-file-lawsuit-against-bidens-student-loan-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/30\/attorneys-general-file-lawsuit-against-bidens-student-loan-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Attorneys General File Lawsuit Against Biden&#8217;s Student Loan Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach and 10 other attorneys general have filed a lawsuit against President Joe Biden\u2019s student loan forgiveness plan.<\/p>\n<p>The states involved in the Kansas-led lawsuit include Alabama, Alaska, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Nebraska, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.<\/p>\n<p>Kobach told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/kansas-ag-sues-block-bidens-student-loan-forgiveness-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News Digital<\/a>, \u201cNot since the Civil War has a president told the Supreme Court, \u2018Yeah you blocked me, but I\u2019m gonna do it anyway.\u2019 Biden is trying to twist federal law once again, and his new plan is just as illegal as the old plan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Kansas AG explained that the case pertains to the \u201cMajor Questions Doctrine,\u201d which is \u201cso important to our separation of powers.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Congress wants to forgive that student debt \u2026 then only Congress can do it,\u201d he said. \u201cAn unelected executive agency cannot just take that power to make these legislative decisions from Congress, and that\u2019s one of the main arguments we will be making in court.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The fact of the matter is this: it is not amongst the President&#8217;s abilities to bypass Congress and earmark 100s of billions of dollars for what they see fit. Nothing since then has changed, other than introducing more legal errors into this Rule\u2019s underlying analysis,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/static.foxbusiness.com\/foxbusiness.com\/content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Kansas-lawsuit.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> reads.<\/p>\n<p>Biden ignored the Supreme Court\u2019s decision and forgave loans for 153,000 borrowers in February. \u201cDefendant Biden openly boasted about his defiance of the Supreme Court with this move, stating in Jacksonian fashion: \u2018The Supreme Court blocked it. They blocked it. But that didn\u2019t stop me,&#8217;\u201d the filing describes. \u201cThis lawsuit is now necessary to prevent Defendants from continuing to flout the law, which includes ignoring Supreme Court decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, six states victoriously challenged Biden\u2019s first student loan forgiveness program. <\/p>\n<p>Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is also leading a lawsuit against Biden\u2019s loan forgiveness plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m extremely pleased to see Kansas is leading a multi-state coalition in challenging President Biden\u2019s latest attempt to unlawfully transfer hundreds of thousands of dollars in Ivy League debt onto working Missouri families,\u201d Bailey said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/ago.mo.gov\/attorney-general-bailey-announces-challenge-to-bidens-latest-illegal-student-loan-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m pleased to share that my office is also leading a multi-state coalition and will be filing suit in Missouri in the coming days. Between our two coalitions of states, we will get this matter in front of a judge even more quickly to deliver a win for the American people. The Supreme Court sided with Missouri on this matter the first time. I look forward to bringing home yet another win for the Constitution and the rule of law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArkansas was part of the original coalition that sued the Biden administration over its first unlawful debt-cancellation plan. President Biden has already lost on this question once, and he is refusing to follow the law. The Supreme Court could not have been clearer: President Biden cannot unilaterally cancel student debt and force taxpayers to bear the multi-billion-dollar cost,\u201d Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin noted.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: My office will be filing suit against Joe Biden for his latest illegal student loan plan.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court sided with us on this matter the first time.
