The Treasury Department alone has more than 150 transactions involving the Biden family and other business associates that were flagged as \u2018suspicious activity\u2019 by U.S. banks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy added that a \u201ctrusted FBI informant\u201d has also provided information regarding an alleged bribe to the Biden family.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"512\" height=\"330\" src=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/standalone\/?c5083746\/speaker-mccarthy-calls-opening-impeachment-inquiry-president-biden\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The inquiry will be led by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., and Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, of the Judiciary Committee, who is closely aligned with former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The White House did not issue any statement on McCarthy\u2019s announcement as of Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>As recently as last week, at least two Republican leaders have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/big-circle-jerk-john-fetterman-205923088.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suggested <\/a>any impeachment effort might not have their support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t seen any evidence at this stage to suggest he\u2019s met the constitutional test for impeachment,\u201d Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, was quoted as telling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/senate-republicans-impeachment_n_64f8b1e2e4b0d44852edcf25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HuffPost<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t we have enough on our plate?\u201d Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, said.<\/p>\n<p>Since Republicans took control of the House earlier this year, they have pursued oversight.<\/p>\n<p>Much of their investigations have focused on the actions Biden and his family took \u2014 both during and after his vice presidency in the Obama administration, which lasted from 2009-2017.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Sen.
