{"id":15923,"date":"2024-03-29T12:53:34","date_gmt":"2024-03-29T07:23:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/29\/matt-redman-partners-with-ccm-artists-for-how-great-thou-art-remix-on-hymns-75th-anniversary\/"},"modified":"2024-03-29T12:53:34","modified_gmt":"2024-03-29T07:23:34","slug":"matt-redman-partners-with-ccm-artists-for-how-great-thou-art-remix-on-hymns-75th-anniversary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/29\/matt-redman-partners-with-ccm-artists-for-how-great-thou-art-remix-on-hymns-75th-anniversary\/","title":{"rendered":"Matt Redman Partners with CCM Artists for &#8220;How Great Thou Art&#8221; Remix on Hymn&#8217;s 75th Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.swncdn.com\/via\/6131-sheet-music-david-beale-unsplash.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Worship leader Matt Redman has collaborated with a number of Christian artists to release a remix of \u201cHow Great Thou Art\u201d in light of the hymn&#8217;s 75h anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=g9TTZFr-6YY\">interview<\/a> with CBN News, Redman shared that he has partnered with multiple Christian artists for the remix, including Chris Tomlin, Hillary Scott, Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, Naomi Raine, Blessing Offor, Jon Reddick, TAYA, Brian and Jenn Johnson, Matt Maher, Pat Barrett, Benjamin William Hastings, Ryan Ellis, and Mitch Wong.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cYou go around churches, different streams, and expressions of church \u2014 you\u2019d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn\u2019t find some kind of connection to this hymn,\u201d Redman said, noting that the hymn grew in popularity when it was played during Billy Graham\u2019s evangelistic crusades.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201c10,000 reasons\u201d singer explained why he believes \u201cHow Great Thou Art\u201d is so timeless and popular, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithwire.com\/2024\/03\/27\/christian-music-stars-unite-for-how-great-thou-art-remix-share-songs-compelling-history\/\">Faithwire<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianheadlines.com\/blog\/how-great-thou-art-celebrates-75-birthday-new-fifth-verse-matt-redman.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;How Great Thou Art&#8217; Celebrates 75th Birthday with New Fifth Verse from Matt Redman &amp; Friends<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it might be because it has this beautiful story, starts with creation, gets the cross, but we get our chance to say what we think about those things,\u201d Redman said. \u201cI think some of the best hymns, they\u2019re like a classroom and a chapel \u2014 they\u2026 educate us, inspire us, bring something to mind. and then they give us a chance to respond to that, say what we think about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also shared that unlike a majority of classic hymns, \u201cHow Great Thou Art\u201d remains under copyright. However, the copyright holder actually approached Redman and asked if there was a way to celebrate the hymn\u2019s 75th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Redman told CBN News that the english version of \u201cHow Great Thou Art\u201d was written by British missionary Stuart Hine while in Ukraine. He added that it was an \u201cespecially poignant time to have\u2026 a new version\u201d since the proceeds will go to Ukraine and humanitarian causes in Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 version of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kSfTnv9NvV8\">How Great Thou Art<\/a>\u201d also includes a brand new section Redman hopes will inspire Christians walking in a \u201cbroken, warring world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was wonderful seeing it come to life,\u201d he said of the song.<\/p>\n<p><em>Image credit: David Beale\/Unsplash<\/em><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><em>Milton Quintanilla is a freelance writer and content creator.
