Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, California, denounced the belief that God is done with the Jewish people, noting that, according to the Bible, Israel is a \u201cprerequisite\u201d for the End Times.<\/p>\n
Hibbs preached the second part of a two-part sermon series on Sunday titled \u201cEpicenter Israel<\/a>,\u201d in which he looked at the modern state of Israel through the lens of biblical prophecy. Any ministry, any pastor, any group that says \u2018Israel as a nation and the Jew doesn\u2019t matter,\u2019 that is a doctrine of heresy, pure and simple. And you need to stay clear of it.\u201d<\/p>\nHibbs pointed to Jeremiah 31:31-33<\/a>, in which God promises to \u201cmake a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah\u201d and that \u201cI will be their God, and they will be my people.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cIf God says I am going to keep these promises and I\u2019m going to do these things,\u201d Hibbs continued. \u201cGod moves, sometimes very slowly, but always effectively.\u201d<\/p>\nHibbs went on to say that \u201cno one is escaping the issue of Israel\u201d and that it will remain relevant to God\u2019s plan because \u201cIsrael\u2019s statehood is a Second Coming prerequisite.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cIn other words, if the Bible says Christ is coming back to Israel, then if you don\u2019t believe in God or if you want to destroy the concept of God, then destroy the nation of Israel. Then you prove the Bible wrong,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n\u201cIf there is no Israel, then the Bible is wrong. Pretty simple.
