{"id":15451,"date":"2024-03-25T07:26:33","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T01:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/25\/michigan-offers-homeowners-500-a-month-to-house-illegals\/"},"modified":"2024-03-25T07:26:33","modified_gmt":"2024-03-25T01:56:33","slug":"michigan-offers-homeowners-500-a-month-to-house-illegals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/25\/michigan-offers-homeowners-500-a-month-to-house-illegals\/","title":{"rendered":"Michigan Offers Homeowners $500 a Month to House Illegals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_82\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The state of Michigan is reportedly introducing a program offering citizens $500 a month to take in illegal migrants.<\/p>\n<p>The program, called the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/ogm\/services\/newcomer-rental-subsidy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Newcomer Rental Subsidy<\/a>, is set to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlive.com\/public-interest\/2023\/05\/michigan-offers-up-to-500-in-monthly-rent-aid-to-refugees-other-immigrants.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">provide<\/a>\u00a0shelter for \u201crefugees.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The assistance would be available to homeowners for up to a year, according to MLive.com.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Hovey, executive director of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, said the program would help migrants \u201cbuild a new life here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the state, those eligible include, refugees, asylees, special immigration visa holders, victims of human trafficking, Cuban and Haitian entrants, Afghan nationals, and Ukrainian humanitarian parolees.<\/p>\n<p>Others who qualify include individuals who arrived under the Family Reunification Parole Process for El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Colombia, individuals with a pending asylum application, and other immigrant individuals on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis program is truly a win-win, as it addresses the most pressing barrier to refugee resettlement by meeting housing needs while setting up families for success with increased employment and opportunity,\u201d Hovey\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/mshda\/about\/press-releases\/2023\/04\/21\/mshda-board-supports-newcomer-rental-subsidy-program-and-development-projects\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The program is reportedly paid for with $4 million funded from the Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/michigan-offers-homeowners-500-a-month-to-house-illegals\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The state of Michigan is reportedly introducing a program offering citizens $500 a month to take in illegal migrants.
