The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has agreed to remove social media posts that told people not to use Ivermectin to treat COVID-19.<\/p>\n
The settlement<\/a> calls for the FDA to \u201cdelete and not republish\u201d several posts warning against the drug.<\/p>\n One page against Ivermectin has already been removed, with another, titled<\/a>, \u201cWhy You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19,\u201d to be removed within 21 days.<\/p>\n \u201cFDA loses its war on ivermectin and agrees to remove all social media posts and consumer directives regarding ivermectin and COVID, including its most popular tweet in FDA history,\u201d Dr. Mary Talley Bowden said in a statement. \u201cThis landmark case sets an important precedent in limiting FDA overreach into the doctor-patient relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cToday\u2019s settlement with the FDA is a major win for the doctor-patient relationship,\u201d Dr. Paul Marik, said<\/a>. \u201cIt vindicates our position that the FDA overstepped its regulatory authority by trying to dictate appropriate medical care.\u201d<\/p>\n
