Noland Arbaugh, a 29-year-old Neuralink patient, played chess with his mind in a newly-released video.<\/p>\n

Arbaugh, a paralyzed man, moved the computer cursor with his thoughts.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just became intuitive for me to start imagining the cursor moving,\u201d he said. \u201cBasically, it was like using the Force on the cursor, and I could get it to move wherever I wanted. Just stare somewhere in the screen and it would move where I wanted it to, which was such a wild experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elon Musk responded to the video, writing, \u201cLong-term, it is possible to shunt the signals from the brain motor cortex past the damaged part of the spine to enable people to walk again and use their arms normally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, Neuralink announced<\/a> that the brain chip patient moved a computer mouse with his mind.<\/p>\n

When asked if he had any updates on the patient, Musk said the individual \u201cseems to have made a full recovery with no ill effects that we\u2019re aware of and is able to control the mouse, move the mouse around the screen just by thinking.\u201d<\/p>\n
