TOPIC:<\/strong>\u00a0Not Just Hearing But Doing (DCLM Daily Manna 22 March 2024)<\/p>\n KEY VERSE:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cAnd Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should\u00a0keep\u00a0the passover\u201d (Numbers 9:4).<\/p>\n TEXT:<\/strong>\u00a0Numbers 9:1-4 (KJV)<\/p>\n 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,<\/p>\n 2 Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season.<\/p>\n 3 In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it.<\/p>\n 4 And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the passover.<\/p>\n MESSAGE:<\/strong><\/p>\n When they put up a skyscraper, they put a lot of work into the foundation before they start worrying about the walls. They would want to make sure it will keep standing. Obedience to God is the best foundation to lay when building our lives.<\/p>\n In our text, God instructed Moses about this vital ceremony commemorating Israel\u2019s escape from Egyptian bondage. \u201cAnd Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the passover.\u201d They were to celebrate the Passover in remembrance of their preservation and protection in Egypt.<\/p>\n Moses had no opinion on this, just as our opinion about the word of God is irrelevant. We are to give people God\u2019s instructions without adulteration or modification. Moses\u2019 devotion to His directives highlights the sacredness of these injunctions. They are not Moses\u2019 words but God\u2019s words. They are to be treated with reverence, received by faith and carried out obediently without any question. Due to the sacredness of God\u2019s word, gospel ministers and preachers must realise the great responsibility He reposed in them to teach and preach what He said without muddling up the instructions, however difficult that may be for them.<\/p>\n We must show gratitude to God in all of His dealings with us and our encounters with Him. Like Israel, we are to express our appreciation by responding to His word promptly, joyfully and obediently. God\u2019s commands must always be our commission.
