The northwest Queens neighborhoods of Corona, Jackson Heights, and Elmhurst have become overrun with illegal immigrants selling clothes and other items on the street, video\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0by Fox News reveals.<\/p>\n According to the video, which was filmed by local resident Ramses Fr\u00edas, large piles of clothes can be seen for sale sit on the ground, while trash has been built up on street corners.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve become sort of this epicenter of crime and prostitution and illegal street vending. It\u2019s taken over many streets,\u201d Fr\u00edas said.<\/p>\n \u201cLike most of my like-minded residents, we see this as a third-world market,\u201d he added. \u201cBasically, you just see clothes thrown across the floor \u2026 the items are stolen from donation bins or stolen from stores, and they just set up shop outside brick-and-mortar businesses. They take away trade from these businesses and don\u2019t pay taxes.\u201d<\/p>\n Corona\u2019s main strip along Roosevelt Avenue has become known as the \u201cmarket of sweethearts\u201d for being filled with prostitutes who stand on the street all day.<\/p>\n AOC responded to the video in a statement, saying Republicans were filming illegals in their \u201cworst moments.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhat we are seeing here is the result of anti-immigrant policies that deny immigrants proper work permits and vending licenses, and drive them into the shadows of undignified conditions,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said.<\/p>\n
