The Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Nevada GOP have sued the Nevada Secretary of State, alleging that the state has \u201cimpossibly high\u201d voter registration rolls.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt least three Nevada counties have more registered voters than they have adult citizens who are over the age of 18. That number of voters is impossibly high,\u201d the lawsuit<\/a> reads.<\/p>\n Two Nevada counties have active voter registration rates greater than 90% of adult citizens over the age of 18, a figure that \u201cfar eclipses the national and statewide voter registration rate in recent elections.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cElection integrity starts with clean voter rolls, and that\u2019s why the National Voter Registration Act requires state officials to keep their rolls accurate and up-to-date. Nevada has universal mail voting and no voter ID requirement, which makes Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar\u2019s failure to comply with the NVRA and provide accurate voter rolls all the more concerning,\u201d RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said<\/a> in a statement. \u201cSecuring clean voter rolls in Nevada is a critical step towards ensuring that it will be easy to vote and hard to cheat.\u201d<\/p>\n
