TOPIC:<\/strong>\u00a0All Glory To God (DCLM Daily Manna 19 March 2024)<\/p>\n KEY VERSE:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cBut unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks,\u00a0Christ\u00a0the power of God, and the wisdom of God\u201d (1 Corinthians 1:24).<\/p>\n TEXT:\u00a0<\/strong>1 Corinthians 1:17-31 (KJV)<\/p>\n 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.<\/p>\n 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.<\/p>\n 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.<\/p>\n 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?<\/p>\n 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.<\/p>\n 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:<\/p>\n 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;<\/p>\n 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.<\/p>\n 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.<\/p>\n 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:<\/p>\n 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;<\/p>\n 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:<\/p>\n 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.<\/p>\n 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:<\/p>\n 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.<\/p>\n MESSAGE:<\/strong><\/p>\n More than 50 years ago when the American astronaut, Edwin \u201cBuzz\u201d Aldrin, made history by landing on the moon, the first act he performed was to offer worship to God. Right there on the moon, he served himself Holy Communion from the wafer and wine he carried along, silently reading from John 15:5, which he had penned on a small notecard. Part of that Scriptures reads: \u201c\u2026for without me ye can do nothing.\u201d As the world celebrated an unforgettable breakthrough, one man recognized the indispensable place of the Creator as the One who deserves all the glory for all our accomplishments.<\/p>\n Apostle Paul, led by the Holy Spirit, says that indeed all the wisdom, craft, ingenuity and philosophy of man from all generations must recede in the presence of the unfathomably wise God. He presents the case that even what might look like the \u201cfoolishness of God\u201d is greater than the wisdom of man. The Jews looked for a sign, believing it was the way of salvation. Then the Greeks came, seeking wisdom as the panacea for man\u2019s unhealthy condition. None was of any value.<\/p>\n But the new way God brought through Jesus\u2019 death and subsequent resurrection has given man a new lease of life. Christ\u2019s intervention transcends the hollowness of signs and the limits of man\u2019s wisdom. He has with Him all life bestows not only here, but also hereafter. The Giver of these all-encompassing benefits deserves glory.<\/p>\n We must give glory to the Lord for our being and achievements.
