The Islamic terrorist organization Hamas is \u201cpimping Palestinians\u201d into making them \u201cimplements of war\u201d against Israel, says Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, California.<\/p>\n

Hibbs discussed the war in the Gaza Strip between Hamas and Israel in a sermon preached Sunday, the first of a two-part series titled \u201cEpicenter Israel: What’s Really Happening in the Middle East?<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

The pastor shared how Christians \u201cpray for the salvation of the Jews\u201d and \u201cwe also pray for the Palestinians who have been caught up in the hijacking\u201d of their lives by Hamas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a very, very tender and sad situation,\u201d said Hibbs. \u201cHamas is responsible for what\u2019s going on in Israel right now. You need to remember that in all that\u2019s taking place.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTragically, our national leaders have forgotten that, our university campuses willfully neglect this. Hamas is pimping Palestinians to achieve its goal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hibbs added that \u201cjust as it has historically always hidden behind women and children, daycare centers, and hospitals to do what it does, so it\u2019s using Palestinian people today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd our heart goes out to them. May God bring salvation and hope and peace to the Palestinian people who want nothing to do with this terrorist activity,\u201d he said. \u201cTragically, they are being used as pawns and implements of war.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hibbs clarified that \u201cI am not saying that Israel is flawless,\u201d adding that \u201cGod never said that\u201d either, while also noting that Scripture \u201cis full of expressions of God\u2019s affection for Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hibbs stressed the importance of the nation of Israel not only in the Bible, but also in the modern day, saying that Hamas and Hezbollah are \u201cpoking God in the eye\u201d when they attack Israel.<\/p>\n

\u201cBible prophecy and the prophetic scriptures are centralized \u2026 on one single nation on Earth as being the epicenter, the main stage of God\u2019s End Time final acts,\u201d Hibbs continued. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Bible, from cover to cover, speaks about Israel and Jerusalem as the centrality when it comes to a nation or a politic. That should get your attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hibbs also warned that \u201cyou better be careful how you treat the Jews and the nation of Israel,\u201d given the many people throughout history who have tried and failed to destroy them.<\/p>\n

He also cited multiple passages from the Bible, including Psalm 121:3-4<\/a>, which show God\u2019s promise to protect the nation of Israel and allow the Jews to endure, even in exile and diaspora.<\/p>\n

\u201cIsrael\u2019s existence is important,\u201d Hibbs added. \u201cBecause if God doesn\u2019t protect Israel, you\u2019re not going to Heaven. He owes you and I nothing if He doesn\u2019t keep His Word.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas, which has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007, launched several attacks<\/a>\u00a0on Israel, killing\u00a0at least 1,200 people<\/a>, mostly civilians, including 31 Americans, and taking about 240 hostages.<\/p>\n

Israel launched a military offensive in Gaza in response, with the aim of eradicating Hamas and freeing the hostages. The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry has claimed that over 30,000 Palestinians have been killed since the war began, although they do not distinguish between armed and unarmed individuals and the death toll is believed to be inaccurate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Some have expressed skepticism<\/a> concerning the authenticity of figures provided by the terrorist group, while Biden administration officials have said the death toll among Gazans might be higher <\/a>than the numbers cited.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In late February, Israel Defense Forces reported that\u00a0at least 12,000 Hamas fighters<\/a> have been killed since the war began, with Israel stating that its fighters strive to avoid civilian casualties in a complex urban environment in which Hamas uses<\/a> civilians as human shields.\u00a0<\/p>\n
