{"id":14471,"date":"2024-03-17T18:17:26","date_gmt":"2024-03-17T12:47:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/17\/federal-agencies-provide-banks-tools-to-flag-americans-buying-guns-or-bibles\/"},"modified":"2024-03-17T18:17:26","modified_gmt":"2024-03-17T12:47:26","slug":"federal-agencies-provide-banks-tools-to-flag-americans-buying-guns-or-bibles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/17\/federal-agencies-provide-banks-tools-to-flag-americans-buying-guns-or-bibles\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal Agencies Provide Banks Tools to Flag Americans Buying Guns or Bibles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Federal agencies reportedly gave banks automated tools to flag as possible domestic terrorists any Americans who buy Bibles or support the enforcement of protecting the border, testimony revealed before a House committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFederal agencies are funding tools for the financial sector similar to those social media is using to target misinformation and hate speech,\u201d explained Jeremy Tedesco, senior counsel at the nonprofit First Amendment law firm Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF). \u201cUnfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On March 6, attorneys general from 16 states called on Wells Fargo to stop \u201cusing debanking as a political tool to extend the policies of the Biden Administration throughout the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWells Fargo has institutionalized discrimination by imposing race and sex-based quotas into credit agreements with customers like BlackRock,\u201d says\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/adfmedialegalfiles.blob.core.windows.net\/files\/AGLetterToWellsFargo.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a letter from<\/a>\u00a0the attorneys general.<\/p>\n<p>Tedesco also claimed the FBI gave financial institutions a document that reportedly said \u201cindicators of domestic violent extremism\u201d banks should monitor in customer purchases include objections to \u201cfirearm legislation\u201d and \u201cthe easing of immigration restrictions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior\u00a0hearings found\u00a0Treasury Department officials told banks that buying things like a Bible, supporting former President Donald Trump, or shopping at sporting goods stores flags law-abiding Americans as potential domestic terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMajor banks have attended CISA Cybersecurity Advisory Committee meetings concerning misinformation and disinformation. For example, JPMorgan Chase attended one such meeting on March 21, 2022, 86 CISA considers \u2018financial services\u2019 to be \u2018critical infrastructure\u2019 that is put at risk by \u2018the spread of false and misleading information,\u2019\u201d Tedesco continued.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tedesco\u2019s testimony, last year Bank of America canceled the account of Indigenous Advance Ministries, a Tennessee-based charity that cares for orphans, prisoners, and sex trafficking victims in Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndigenous Advance Ministries \u2026 had to tell its nine Ugandan employees to wait an extra week to receive a paycheck they depend on for survival,\u201d Tedesco said. \u201cLike many of their countrymen, these Ugandans don\u2019t live paycheck to paycheck, but meal to meal.
