It\u2019s not perfect, but I am sure this will be a lasting contribution to thinking Christians everywhere. It\u2019s a thoughtful piece that raises many pressing, indeed, perennial issues, that have not been addressed quite as clearly as I do here. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><em>You\u2019re welcome.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What God thinks (as told through dramatic metaphor):<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/peteenns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/scribble.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-837\" title=\"scribble\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/peteenns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/scribble-150x150.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Five year old: Daddy, do you like my picture?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Father: [<em>Dear God, if there is a God, have mercy on me and tell me what this random series\u2013if series is even the right word\u2013of lines and squiggles is supposed to be. Please. Help. Me.<\/em>] Ah\u2026.woooooow! That\u2019s A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Five Year Old: Can you tell what it is? [<em>no clue what\u2019s happening<\/em>]\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Father: [<em>Merciful and Almighty God. I do not know what this is. Either tell me or make it stop. I will promise you anything.<\/em>] Of COURSE. \u00a0Yeah. \u00a0It\u2019s a cccaaaa\u2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Five Year Old: [<em>slightly puzzled but not discouraged<\/em>] It\u2019s a reindeer in a boat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Father: [<em>Capricious God, was I asking too much? A little help. Still, not too bad. Damage control time.<\/em>] Sure. Here are the antlers\u2026and look\u2026it\u2019s nose\u2026and there is the outboard motor\u2026..and that\u2019s the water, right?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Five Year Old: That\u2019s the sail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Father: [<em>A sail? Why didn\u2019t you warn me to leave well enough alone?<\/em>] Oh, riiiight. The sail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Five Year Old: Isn\u2019t that a great picture, Dad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Father: It\u2019s beAUTiful. I love it. And everyone else who sees it will love it, too. Let\u2019s hang it up on the fridge to make sure everyone sees it.
