{"id":14226,"date":"2024-03-16T04:25:29","date_gmt":"2024-03-15T22:55:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/16\/california-school-organized-secret-lgbtq-club\/"},"modified":"2024-03-16T04:25:29","modified_gmt":"2024-03-15T22:55:29","slug":"california-school-organized-secret-lgbtq-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/16\/california-school-organized-secret-lgbtq-club\/","title":{"rendered":"California School Organized Secret LGBTQ Club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Parents have discovered that Pleasant Grove Elementary School developed a secret LGBTQ club for students.<\/p>\n<p>The club was organized by a third-grade teacher, and designed to support \u201cinclusivity\u201d among fourth, fifth, and sixth graders.<\/p>\n<p>After news of the club spread, parents gathered at the Elk Grove Unified\u2019s School board meeting to voice their opposition.<\/p>\n<p>One of the parents attending the meeting, Kirk Thomas, told a local news station, \u201cThere was no permission slip. There was no notification to parents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another parent, Heidi Moore, stated, \u201cThe district isn\u2019t really giving any answers on what was happening, what the guidelines were, what the curriculum was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The school provided a statement on the matter to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/sacramento\/news\/lgbtq-club-causing-controversy-elk-grove-elementary-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CBS13<\/a>, which read, \u201cEGUSD is aware of the UBU club at Pleasant Grove Elementary but the club is currently on pause while the District reviews all pertinent policies and practices that relate to before\/after school clubs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>American Faith <a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/colorado-families-sue-school-district-alleging-secret-lgbtq-club-led-to-daughters-emotional-distress-suicidal-thoughts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> that two Colorado families are suing Poudre School District, alleging that their daughters were encouraged to join a secret LGBTQ club at Wellington Middle-High School, leading to emotional distress and suicidal thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>The Lee and Jurich families have filed a lawsuit with the help of America First Policy Institute and Illumine Legal, claiming that the school\u2019s Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) held undisclosed meetings on topics such as polyamory, transgenderism, and gender identity.<\/p>\n<p>The club leaders allegedly urged students to keep the discussions secret from their parents.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit also states that substitute teacher Kimberly Chambers, the executive director of Supporting Pride Learning and Social Happenings (SPLASH), was invited to speak at a GSA meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Chambers advised students that it \u201cmight not be safe to tell their parents what happened at the GSA meeting or to talk about transgender issues\u201d and encouraged them to contact her instead.<\/p>\n<p>                    <!--begin code --><\/p>\n<p>                    <!--end code --><\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/california-school-organized-secret-lgbtq-club\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parents have discovered that Pleasant Grove Elementary School developed a secret LGBTQ club for students.
