{"id":14083,"date":"2024-03-15T03:30:21","date_gmt":"2024-03-14T22:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/15\/adobe-firefly-produces-historically-inaccurate-ai\/"},"modified":"2024-03-15T03:30:21","modified_gmt":"2024-03-14T22:00:21","slug":"adobe-firefly-produces-historically-inaccurate-ai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/15\/adobe-firefly-produces-historically-inaccurate-ai\/","title":{"rendered":"Adobe Firefly Produces Historically Inaccurate AI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Adobe Firefly is the latest AI tool to generate historically inaccurate images.<\/p>\n<p>The accusations come from The Daily Mail and Semafor, who presented the AI with prompts similar to those given to Google Gemini, which also produced inaccurate images.<\/p>\n<p>When asked to generate pictures of Vikings and the Founding Fathers, the images came back with black men and women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bot also created black soldiers fighting for Nazi-era German military uniforms, even though they\u2019re seen under a German flag, which was not used by the country while it was under Hitler\u2019s rule,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13194153\/Adobe-firefly-AI-google-gemini-black-nazis-vikings.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Daily Mail<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n<p>Adobe responded to the accusations in a statement provided to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.semafor.com\/article\/03\/13\/2024\/adobe-firefly-repeats-the-same-ai-blunders-as-google-gemini\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Semafor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdobe Firefly is built to help people ideate, create and build upon their natural creativity. It isn\u2019t meant for generating photorealistic depictions of real or historical events,\u201d the company said. \u201cAdobe\u2019s commitment to responsible innovation includes training our AI models on diverse datasets to ensure we\u2019re producing commercially safe results that don\u2019t perpetuate harmful stereotypes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis includes extensively testing outputs for risk and to ensure they match the reality of the world we live in. Given the nature of Gen AI and the amount of data it gets trained on, it isn\u2019t always going to be correct, and we recognize that these Firefly images are inadvertently off base. We build feedback mechanisms in all of our Gen AI products, so we can see any issues and fix them through retraining or adjusting filters. Our focus is always improving our models to give creators a set of options to bring their visions to life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Google\u2019s AI, Gemini, <a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/google-to-improve-ai-after-image-generator-removes-white-people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">faced<\/a> widespread backlash after the image generator failed to produce pictures of white people consistent with historical prompts.<\/p>\n<p>When asked to generate an image of \u201cBritish Empire people,\u201d the AI returned photos of \u201cdiverse\u201d people.<\/p>\n<p>When asked to \u201cmake a picture of a white family,\u201d the AI tool said it was \u201cunable to generate images that specify ethnicity or race.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s against my guidelines to create content that could be discriminatory or promote harmful stereotypes,\u201d it continued. \u201cInstead, I can offer you images of families that celebrate diversity and inclusivity, featuring people of various ethnicities and backgrounds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                    <!--begin code --><\/p>\n<p>                    <!--end code --><\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/adobe-firefly-produces-historically-inaccurate-ai\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adobe Firefly is the latest AI tool to generate historically inaccurate images.
