TOPIC:<\/strong>\u00a0What Faith Is Not (Seeds Of Destiny 14 March 2024)<\/p>\n

SCRIPTURE<\/strong>: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to\u00a0God\u00a0must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. \u2013 Hebrews 11:6.<\/p>\n

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:<\/strong>\u00a0Faith is not acting blindly, hoping that something works out. Faith is not a blind action.<\/p>\n

MESSAGE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many people do not understand faith, and so they call faith what it is not. For example, faith is not acting blindly hoping that something works out. Faith is not a blind action.<\/p>\n

Now, I will illustrate what faith is not with a story I heard many years ago.<\/p>\n

Sometime ago, someone walked into a zoo in Ibadan, Western Nigeria, and jumped into a lions\u2019 cage with the belief that he was the present day Daniel. He believed that since they put Daniel in the lions\u2019 den in Bible days and the lions did not devour him, if he entered the lions\u2019 den, the lions should fellowship with him instead of devouring him.<\/p>\n

When this man entered the lions\u2019 cage, the lions might have wondered, \u201cWhat did we do for God to give us this kind of free food today!\u201d<\/p>\n

The lions wasted no time. They jumped on him and tore him into pieces. The man did not come out alive. He died.<\/p>\n

That was not faith. That was a combination of foolishness and presumption. I call it ignoramus stupiditis (An affliction caused by ignorance and stupidity). Such \u2018faith\u2019 is based on nothing.<\/p>\n

Some people would say, \u201cI have faith.\u201d And to confirm it, they say, \u201cGive me acid to drink. I will not die.\u201d That is stupidity. If they drink such acid, they will die.<\/p>\n

When the devil asked Jesus to throw himself down from a height, he did not obey the devil; he refused (Matthew 4:5-6).
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.<\/p>\n

Jesus seemed to say, \u201cSatan, I am not to receive instructions from you; you are not to tell me what to do. You are not my commander.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lesson here is: do not do what is not faith<\/a>. Do not practice faith blindly.<\/p>\n

REMEMBER THIS:<\/strong>\u00a0Faith is not acting blindly hoping that something works out. Faith is not a blind action.<\/p>\n

  2. Study the steps of men of faith in Scripture and follow their pathways.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    PRAYER:\u00a0<\/strong>Lord, I ask that You deliver me from any form of blind action in the name of faith. Help me to understand clearly the subject of faith and follow Scriptural pathways, Lord, in Jesus\u2019 Name.<\/p>\n
