Rep. Cory Mills, (R-FL), helped rescue a\u00a0group of Americans from Haiti working at an orphanage in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince.<\/p>\n
Mills rescue is the third of U.S. citizens during a foreign crisis under the Biden administration.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI am proud to report that my team and I were successful in evacuating [and] rescuing a trapped and at-risk group of Americans from Have Faith Orphanage in Haiti last night,\u201d Mills said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis mission reiterates a disturbing reality under President Biden\u2019s leadership: American lives are continually jeopardized,\u201d Mills said. \u201cI have led missions to rescue Americans multiple times when Joe Biden has deserted them.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a clear pattern of abandonment,\u201d Mills continued. \u201cYet again, this group was left behind by Biden and his State Department after requesting their help in-country.\u201d<\/p>\n
The U.S. military sent forces to Haiti over the weekend and\u00a0airlifted non-essential personnel\u00a0who had remained after an order for such individuals to evacuate last summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have no higher priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens overseas,\u201d a U.S. State Department spokesperson said. \u201cThe U.S. Embassy remains open with limited staffing and will continue to provide assistance to U.S. citizens as necessary.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
