Christian singer Jeremy Camp underwent successful surgery Monday to treat an irregular heartbeat and is resting at home, his wife Adrienne says.<\/p>\n
The Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning artist had posted a social media video<\/a> Sunday asking friends and fans alike to pray for him as he underwent a cardiac ablation procedure to treat an irregular heartbeat (Afib, or atrial fibrillation), which he said causes his heart to beat \u201creally, really fast\u201d to the point he has trouble breathing.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was affecting a lot of things. And even tonight, I went into Afib on stage, and I had to cut the set short,\u201d he said. \u201c…It’s hard to function.\u201d<\/p>\n Cardiac ablation, according to the Mayo Clinic, involves the insertion of a catheter into a blood vessel and then guiding it to the heart. Lol! Surgery was a success but it\u2019ll take a few months to fully heal. We are beyond grateful for how you guys have cared for us in prayer. Also, so grateful for an incredible Dr and staff. \u2018My strength and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.\u2019 Ps 73:26<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Camp said he debated disclosing the surgery to the public.<\/p>\n \u201cI have a lot of people saying to me always, you know, \u2018What can we be praying for you?\u2019 And there’s a lot of prayer warriors out there — a lot of people have been praying for me just for different things, and I’m super thankful for it. So I want to bring this to everybody\u2019s attention. \u2026I just would love your prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n Friends and fans alike posted comments of gratitude. Pastor Greg Laurie wrote, \u201cAnswered prayer!\u201d Danny Gokey said, \u201cLove you bro.\u201d Singer Jordan Feliz said he was praying. Jonathan Traylor wrote, \u201cLove you guys! Praying for good rest and speedy recovery!\u201d<\/p>\n Camp, during his career, has had 12 No. 1 hits on Billboard\u2019s Christian Airplay Chart and 39 songs make the chart.<\/p>\n His story was re-told in the 2020 Kingdom Story Company film, I Still Believe<\/em><\/a>.
