Former NFL player and devout Christian Tim Tebow\u00a0opened up over the weekend about his effort to help victims of child trafficking and exploitation in the United States and across the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was made aware of this several years ago, just the depth of it by one of our team members,\u201d Tebow said. \u201cShe said to me, \u2018I believe there is 20,000 boys and girls that are still unidentified.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, law enforcement can see their abuse and rape images but they haven\u2019t been able to identify them. So, if you can\u2019t identify them, how could you possibly get to them?\u201d<\/p>\n
Tebow\u2019s foundation reportedly works with law enforcement in hopes of bringing the abusers to justice.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe found that it\u2019s not 20,000 kids that are unknown or unidentified, it\u2019s over 50,000 boys and girls through the backlog that are unidentified in these global databases,\u201d he added. \u201cThere are so many boys and girls and 65% of them are under the age of 12 and 4.3% of them \u2013 that\u2019s 2,100 \u2013 are infants.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tebow worked with Homeland Security Investigations on \u201cOperation Renewed Hope,\u201d a three-week span of investigations into child abuse in 2023.<\/p>\n
The foundation said it located \u201c311 probable identifications of previously unknown victims, including 14 positive contacts and confirmed the rescue of several victims from active abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n
