Former President Donald Trump gave his endorsement for Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina over the weekend. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt is my great honor to endorse a strong conservative voice for South Carolina\u2019s 1st Congressional District; Nancy Mace worked hard campaigning across South Carolina in support of our record-breaking win,\u201d\u00a0Trump posted<\/a>\u00a0on Truth Social.<\/p>\n \u201cIn Congress, she is fighting to secure the border, strengthen our military, support our veterans, uphold the rule of law, stop political weaponization, and protect and defend our always under siege Second Amendment.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cCongresswoman Nancy Mace has my complete and total endorsement!\u201d Trump continued.<\/p>\n Mace followed up endorsing the former president back, saying she wanted the \u201cbest for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI have endorsed the man that I believe is best for our country,\u201d Mace told ABC on Sunday morning after Trump\u2019s endorsement. \u201cIt\u2019s not Joe Biden. And you looked at the dueling rallies yesterday in Georgia. Laken Riley\u2019s family was with Donald Trump. They weren\u2019t with Joe Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n Mace spoke about previously being critical of Trump, but saying she and her voters have \u201cmoved on.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI listened to my voters in South Carolina, and they\u2019ve moved beyond Jan. 6,\u201d she continued. \u201cI said my piece on Jan. 6. I was very clear about how I felt about it. And I also, as you stated, I voted to certify the electoral college for every single state in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut something\u2019s happened between now and then, and that was Joe Biden. And I listen to my voters. They move on. They don\u2019t ask me about Jan. 6. Maybe that\u2019s what you in the media, you guys talk about in your cocktail parties, but voters are not talking about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
