{"id":13532,"date":"2024-03-11T12:21:14","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T06:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/11\/hamas-terrorists-horrific-impact-on-israeli-kids-families-man-shares-harrowing-story\/"},"modified":"2024-03-11T12:21:14","modified_gmt":"2024-03-11T06:51:14","slug":"hamas-terrorists-horrific-impact-on-israeli-kids-families-man-shares-harrowing-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/11\/hamas-terrorists-horrific-impact-on-israeli-kids-families-man-shares-harrowing-story\/","title":{"rendered":"Hamas Terrorists&#8217; Horrific Impact on Israeli Kids, Families: Man Shares Harrowing Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-cbn-component-name=\"wysiwyg_editor\">\n<p>The brother-in-law of a Hamas hostage is speaking out about his relative\u2019s dire plight, imploring the international community to keep fighting for Israeli hostages\u2019 return.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen to them on the latest\u00a0episode\u00a0of \u201cQuick Start\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"482\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/playlist.megaphone.fm\/?p=CCBNC3640195386\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Moshe Lavi said his brother-in-law, Omri Miran, 46, was taken captive from Kibbutz Nir Oz on Oct. 7 by Hamas terrorists who invaded the country and slaughtered around 1,200 Israelis.<\/p>\n<p>Miran is married to Lishay Miran and is father to daughters Roni, 2, and 9-month-old Alma.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s an incredible father to my two nieces, Roni and Alma [and an] amazing husband to my sister, Lishay,\u201d Lavi said, describing Miran as a man with a \u201cgentle heart.\u201d \u201cHe\u2019s a family man.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Months after the children\u2019s father was ripped from their lives, Lavi said the kids not only scream and cry for their dad, but that the older child verbally recounts the \u201cviolence she witnessed on October 7th.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow horrible it is that children at the age of 2 and 3 [are] hearing this?\u201d he said. \u201cShe draws it in paintings. \u2026 We take her to therapy, because we have to do that to ensure that she gets every support she [needs].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201c[The kids] cry for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch Lavi share the heartbreaking story:<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Heartbreaking Story of Israeli Hostage Family Trauma\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aMq-sjrYFz4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Lavi, who lives in New York, said he initially assumed the events unfolding in Israel were of the \u201cnormal\u201d variety of chaos sometimes imposed by the nation\u2019s neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt felt normal, because, to be honest, that was our reality for so many years,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd it pains me to say it, because I think \u2026 we tolerated it and allowed our government to tolerate it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But, on Oct. 7, he soon started receiving messages from friends and family and quickly realized the situation was anything but normal; the horror was soon more than apparent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the worst night in my life,\u201d Lavi said. \u201cI served for six years in the military. I was a captain, so I\u2019ve had a good share of bad nights, but \u2026 that experience was dreadful because you feel helpless.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thousands of miles away in New York, Lavi was confined to communicating with loved ones on WhatsApp, watching the news and events unfold on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou read the news, you see on social media, horrific videos of terrorists coming into my hometown, killing people, butchering people,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was terrible. My heart was beating, I was losing sense of time and space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lavi eventually lost touch with his family and later learned about the horrific situation his loved ones faced at the hands of Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mom received a message that Lishay, my sister, survived, that the two babies survived, but that [Omri] was taken hostage,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m grateful my parents were rescued and survived.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hamas terrorists had barged into Omri\u2019s home, using a teenage boy from the kibbutz to lure them to open the door in a faux effort to save the 15-year-old boy\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLater on that day, Hamas murdered [the teen] and most of his family,\u201d Lavi said. \u201cFor hours, they were abused at their home, held at gunpoint, their house was ransacked, ravaged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That was just one of the many horrors to be inflicted on innocents that day, with some of the atrocities being live-streamed on Facebook. Some of that footage, which Lavi has seen, shows his sister holding her children as gunshots rang out, rockets blared in the distance, and people screamed in terror.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re sitting on the floor, held hostage at gunpoint,\u201d he said of his family members viewed in some of that footage. \u201cIt\u2019s terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lavi described how Omri was taken by Hamas that day and how it took 11 hours before Israel Defense Forces rescued his sister. Now, he\u2019s doing everything he can to bring his brother-in-law home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re laser-focused on bringing Omri home,\u201d he said, noting the family has no idea what physical condition their loved one is in amid his continued captivity. \u201cWe don\u2019t know his condition, we don\u2019t know his whereabouts, and we hear the testimonies from hostages who were there about the torture, the abuse, sexual violence, deprivation of food, water, proper sanitary condition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lavi continued, \u201cWe\u2019re terrified for what he\u2019s experiencing, but, at the same time, we try and project hope, because that hope helps us to advocate for him with public officials [and] elected officials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said he wants the world to separate the hostage situation from political issues and to recognize this humanitarian crisis is unacceptable and must be solved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m deeply disappointed and hurt to see that not all nations united behind our call,\u201d he said of bringing hostages home. \u201cThese hostages are human beings \u2026 they deserve to return to their home, and their families, and \u2026 they\u2019re held by a terrorist organization who seeks only death and destruction in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch the interview above for more on this difficult story.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www1.cbn.com\/cbnnews\/world\/2024\/march\/hamas-terrorists-horrific-impact-on-israeli-kids-families-man-shares-harrowing-story\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The brother-in-law of a Hamas hostage is speaking out about his relative\u2019s dire plight, imploring the international community to keep fighting for Israeli hostages\u2019 return.
