Gavin Newsom could be facing another potential recall effort. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRescue California\u201d announced that it planned to file a notice of intent to recall the Democratic governor. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cGavin Newsom has abandoned the state to advance his Presidential ambitions, leaving behind a $73 billion budget deficit and a public safety, immigration and education crisis,\u201d Rescue California campaign director Anne Dunsmore said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver 400 Californians of every political persuasion and from all walks of life, have joined together to serve as official proponents of this Recall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rescue California cited several reasons they believed a recall was justified, including the state\u2019s increase in homelessness and crime. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump Republicans are launching another wasteful recall campaign to distract us from the existential fight for democracy and reproductive freedom. We will defeat them,\u201d Newsom wrote in a post on X.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom defeated a previous recall effort in 2021, after a special election was held after nearly 1.5 million Californians signed a petition. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: California Gov.
