TOPIC:<\/strong>\u00a0You Are Not Of This World (TREM Devotional 28 February 2024)<\/p>\n \u201cThey are not of the world,<\/a> even as I am not of the world.\u201d John 17:16 (KJV)<\/em><\/p>\n MESSAGE:<\/strong><\/p>\n You are not of this world. Those are the words of our Master and\u00a0Perfect\u00a0Example: Jesus Christ. So don\u2019t spend your time trying to glamourize and satisfy the flesh that is not going anywhere. Don\u2019t try to be with the Joneses. Don\u2019t be consumed with the desire to wear designer apparel, carry designer bags, go home big, drive the latest model, build houses everywhere, and show the world that you have arrived. You are not taking any one of those things home. You are not taking any of these things anywhere. So why will you spend your life focusing on material things and end up destroying your colourful future because of temporary gratification?<\/p>\n Beloved, the things of this world will not last! Only the Kingdom of God will endure forever. The world is filled with wickedness, but we are never called to join them because we are not of the world, even as Christ is not of the world.<\/p>\n God knows that we have all these demonic activities in the world. And so, Jesus, in His Priestly intercession, prayed for the Church: \u201cI do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.\u201d (John 17:15 NKJV).<\/p>\n Jesus is not saying you should be isolated from the world. Rather He wants you to insulate yourself in the world because you are not of the world. In other words, you are here but the world does not have an effect on you. You are in the world, but you are set apart. It is the word that separates you from evil and separates you from God. \u201cSanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.\u201d (John 17:17 NKJV)<\/p>\n So, your assignment as a believer is to ensure that the word of God has a landing place and it produces in your life. That is what brings transformation. We are transformed through the word.
