{"id":11168,"date":"2024-02-24T01:11:53","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T19:41:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/24\/doj-missed-deadline-to-hand-over-robert-hur-transcribed-interview\/"},"modified":"2024-02-24T01:11:53","modified_gmt":"2024-02-23T19:41:53","slug":"doj-missed-deadline-to-hand-over-robert-hur-transcribed-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cccfornews.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/24\/doj-missed-deadline-to-hand-over-robert-hur-transcribed-interview\/","title":{"rendered":"DOJ Missed Deadline to Hand Over Robert Hur Transcribed Interview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Department of Justice (DOJ) missed the deadline to hand over Special Counsel Robert Hur\u2019s transcribed interview describing Joe Biden\u2019s \u201cpoor memory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If the DOJ released the interview, Congress could determine the extent of Biden\u2019s memory problems.<\/p>\n<p>The Justice Department was given until February 19 at 5 pm to provide the transcript.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8BREAKING\ud83d\udea8<\/p>\n<p>We are giving the Justice Department until February 19 at 5p to produce the transcript of President Biden\u2019s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur and other documents included in the report that relate to our impeachment inquiry.<\/p>\n<p>Americans deserve transparency\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JtVZ2LY3nz\">pic.twitter.com\/JtVZ2LY3nz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Oversight Committee (@GOPoversight) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GOPoversight\/status\/1757166543777964417?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 12, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe haven\u2019t received what we requested and everything is on the table as to what is next,\u201d a House Judiciary Committee spokesperson told the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2024\/02\/20\/doj-robert-hur-joe-biden-interview-transcript-release-deadline-house-judiciary-oversight-committee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Caller<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, a House Oversight Committee spokesperson said, \u201cThe DOJ has not provided the materials requested and the committees will soon follow up about the chairmen\u2019s request.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hur is <a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/special-counsel-robert-hur-to-testify-before-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scheduled<\/a> to appear before the Judiciary Committee on March 12 to discuss his report on Biden\u2019s mishandled documents case.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the Special Counsel\u2019s Office <a href=\"https:\/\/americanfaith.com\/justice-department-says-biden-willfully-withheld-documents-no-prosecution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>, \u201cOur investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Biden\u2019s memory was significantly limited, both during his recorded interviews with the ghostwriter in 2017, and in his interview with our office in 2023,\u201d the report adds. \u201cAnd his cooperation with our investigation, including by reporting to the government that the Afghanistan documents were in his Delaware garage, will likely convince some jurors that he made an innocent mistake, rather than acting willfully \u2013 that is, with intent to break the law \u2013 as the statute requires.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Eiden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,\u201d Hur\u2019s report read. \u201cBased on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt.
