<\/source><\/picture>A cosmetic brand is cutting ties with singer Alice Cooper after the rocker suggested that transgenderism among youth is yet another \u201cfad\u201d and raised concerns about adults teaching children they can change their sex if they want to or they can even identify as a cat.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In an Instagram post<\/a> on Thursday, Vampyre Cosmetics announced: “In light of recent statements by Alice Cooper we will no\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b longer be doing a makeup collaboration. We stand with all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and believe everyone should have access to healthcare. All pre-order sales will be refunded.”<\/p>\n The rocker outlined the details of his collaboration with Vampyre Cosmetics and the licensing agent Global Merchandising to create an \u201cexclusive collection celebrating the distinctive look and style of Alice Cooper\u201d in an Aug. 18 post <\/a>on his website: \u201cThis collection will exude Alice\u2019s style and feature guitar and amp shaped makeup palettes, microphone styled lipsticks and a major highlight for Alice Cooper and makeup fans to look forward to is a new version of Alice Cooper\u2019s iconic Whiplash mascara.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Five days after Cooper unveiled the details of his collaboration with Vampyre Cosmetics and Global Merchandising, Stereogum published an interview <\/a>with Cooper where the rock star weighed in on comments made by his fellow singers Paul Stanley and Dee Snider about LGBT ideology: \u201cI\u2019m understanding that there are cases of transgender, but I\u2019m afraid that it\u2019s also a fad, and I\u2019m afraid there\u2019s a lot of people claiming to be this just because we want to be that.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI find it wrong when you\u2019ve got a 6-year-old kid who has no idea. He just wants to play, and you\u2019re confusing him, telling him, \u2018Yeah, you\u2019re a boy, but you could be a girl if you want to be,\u2019\u201d he added. \u201cI think that\u2019s so confusing to a kid. It\u2019s even confusing to a teenager. You\u2019re still trying to find your identity, and yet here\u2019s this thing going on, saying, \u2018Yeah, but you can be anything you want. You can be a cat if you want to be.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Cooper derided what he referred to as \u201cthis whole woke thing,\u201d lamenting that \u201cit\u2019s gone to the point of absurdity now.\u201d He expanded on his point by citing the use of the term \u201cbirthing person\u201d rather than \u201cmother,\u201d asking, \u201cWho is this person that\u2019s making these rules?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI respect people and who they are, but I\u2019m not going to tell a 7-year-old, \u2018Go put a dress on because maybe you\u2019re a girl, and he\u2019s going, \u2018No I\u2019m not. I\u2019m a boy,\u2019\u201d Cooper asserted. \u201cI look at it this way, the logical way: If you have these genitals, you\u2019re a boy. If you have those genitals, you\u2019re a girl. There\u2019s a difference between \u2018I am a male who is a female, or I\u2019m a female that\u2019s a male\u2019 and wanting to be a female. You were born a male. OK, so that\u2019s a fact. You have these things here.\u201d<\/p>\n Cooper also suggested that a predator could end up \u201creally taking advantage of this,\u201d warning that \u201ca guy can walk into a woman\u2019s bathroom at any time and say, \u2018I just feel like I\u2019m a woman today\u2019 and have the time of his life in there.\u201d Reiterating that \u201cthat\u2019s going to happen,\u201d Cooper expressed concern that \u201csomebody\u2019s going to get raped, and the guy\u2019s going to say, \u2018Well, I felt like a girl that day, and then I felt like a guy.\u2019\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n Cooper\u2019s comments came in response to a question asking him to react to remarks made by Paul Stanley<\/a> of the rock band KISS and Dee Snider<\/a> of the rock band Twisted Sister. In May, Stanley condemned the \u201csad and dangerous fad\u201d where young children \u201cend up questioning their sexual identification.\u201d<\/p>\n Stanley also took issue with \u201cparents normalizing it as some sort of natural alternative or believing that because a little boy likes to play dress up in a sister\u2019s clothes or a girl in her brother\u2019s, we should lead them steps further down a path that\u2019s far from the innocence of what they are doing.\u201d<\/p>\n Before Stanley issued a clarification to his analysis following pushback, Snider replied to his fellow rocker\u2019s tweet outlining his views with a tweet of his own reading, \u201cWell said.\u201d This prompted the LGBT advocacy group organization San Francisco Pride to pull Snider from the lineup at their annual pride parade this year, where the singer was scheduled to perform his signature hit \u201cWe\u2019re Not Gonna Take It.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Snider defended his views, expressing disappointment that his \u201clifetime of supporting the transgender community\u2019s right to identify as they want and honoring whatever changes they make in how they present themselves to the world isn\u2019t enough\u201d because of his belief that \u201cyoung children are not ready to decide their gender allocation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cChoices should be supported and accepted by their parents, but I do not think kids have the mental capabilities to make rational, logical decisions on things of a magnitude that will affect them for the rest of their lives.
